Croc You Like a Hurricane

It’s a dog eat dog world, and my dogs just want to be free. I love an impractical heel as much as the next gal, but sometimes I just want to live in comfort. Enter the Creel: the monstrous, divisive brain child of the Crocs franchise. It’s an odd mixture of the 70s clog and the rubber croc-two very iconic silhouettes. However, for many of us, Crocs toe the fine line of house shoe and going out shoes. Once you surpass the line, its a dangerous road filled with capri pants and novelty airbrushed t-shirts. I am here to say that there is hope. I have come out on the other side as a woman who gives even less of a d**n of what others think. If I want to wear a Costco shirt, wonderful. If I want to wear a Bob Mackie archival gown, also wonderful. I digress.

As I slipped on the chunky heels, visions of all the painful heels I’ve worn throughout my lifetime flashed before my eyes. Maybe these were… kind of cute? Onlookers were helpless as they saw me leap into the dark side before their very eyes. I was a goner. I mean, surely there is a way to Manor on Main-ify them? They aren’t that bad, are they? Low and behold they are indeed that bad. However, where there’s a will there’s a way. By George, I found a way.

Jibbitz are these odd parts that Crocs has designed to squeeze every last drop from their buyers. With Jibbitz, you can customize your Crocs to fit your individual personality. Now these have shifted your symbol of giving up as a beacon into your soul. People can know exactly who you are by looking at your feet. This is my loophole. The addition of Jibbitz mean that my Crocs now fall into the novelty category. They aren’t a cry for help! They are now a tongue-in-cheek joke to the world that I don’t take myself too seriously.

Now you can be apart of the joke too. As usual, I’ve done all the dirty work and all you have to do is pick out what you like. We can be honest with one another. You didn’t buy these as a joke. Neither did I, but it will be our little secret. Until next time.

XOXO, Lady Samantha
